En virtud de la autoridad conferida por la Constitución de Virginia al Gobernador de la Commonwealth of Virginia, por la presente se reconoce oficialmente:
Semana de Servicios Médicos de Emergencia
CONSIDERANDO QUE, proteger la salud y promover el bienestar de todas las personas en Virginia es importante para fomentar comunidades saludables, conectadas y resilientes en la Commonwealth; y
WHEREAS, Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), Advanced EMTs, Intermediates, and Paramedics stand ready to provide compassionate, lifesaving care, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to improve the survival and recovery of those in need of emergency care; and
MIENTRAS QUE Los socorristas de los Servicios Médicos de Emergencia (EMS, por sus siglas en inglés) cuentan con el apoyo de despachadores médicos de emergencia, bomberos, agentes de la ley, educadores, administradores, investigadores, enfermeras de emergencia, médicos de emergencia y otros; y
WHEREAS, EMS providers, both career and volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills; and
WHEREAS, Virginians are thankful for the hard work and dedication of more than 40,000 EMS providers and 546 EMS agencies that protect the health of our families and communities; and
WHEREAS, this year’s theme, “We Care. For Everyone.”, highlights the lifesaving skills that deliver a range of medical interventions, essential prehospital patient care, and emergency services to everyone;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize May 18-24, 2025, as EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK in our COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all of our citizens.
