En virtud de la autoridad conferida por la Constitución de Virginia al Gobernador de la Commonwealth of Virginia, por la presente se reconoce oficialmente:
Mes de la Herencia Asiático-Americana y de las Islas del Pacífico
CONSIDERANDO QUE, hay más de 700000 virginianos que son asiático-americanos o isleños del Pacífico, incluidos aquellos que son nuevos inmigrantes, de primera y segunda generación y más allá; y
MIENTRAS QUE Los estadounidenses de origen asiático y los isleños del Pacífico constituyen uno de los grupos demográficos de más rápido crecimiento en el Commonwealth y reflejan una amplia gama de orígenes étnicos y culturales; y
CONSIDERANDO QUE, la comunidad asiático-americana y de las islas del Pacífico en el Commonwealth of Virginia representa una pieza vital de nuestro diverso tejido étnico y social cuyos idiomas, culturas y creencias religiosas han enriquecido a las comunidades en todas partes del estado; y
WHEREAS, Asian American and Pacific Islander men and women have made valuable contributions to all areas of the Commonwealth, including government, business, arts, sciences, medicine, law enforcement, and the military; and
WHEREAS, through their love of family and community, hard work, and ingenuity, our Asian American and Pacific Islander citizens make our Commonwealth a better place to live, work, and raise a family; and
WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Virginia proudly celebrates Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and remembers the essential contributions, sacrifices, and accomplishments that Asian American and Pacific Islanders have made to strengthen the Spirit of Virginia;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Glenn Youngkin, do hereby recognize May 2025, as ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE MONTH in the COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, and I call this observance to the attention of all of our citizens.
